ITINERARY

Day 1: Tawau Airport to Semporna

The adventurous road trip will start with a short stay at the town of Semporna, which has several dive sites close to the Tun Sakaran Marine Park, a group of 8 island with dive sites.

Day 2: Semporna and Sipadan Island

From Semporna, we can get to the island in 1 hour by a fast boat. One can walk around the beaches or snorkel. Sipadan is one of the best diving sites. Sipadan has a rich coral reef life filled with variety of marine life like the sea turtles, jackfish, barracudas and bumphead parrotfish.

Day 3: Kinabgatan Jungle Camp

Kinabagatan Jungle Camp will be our next destination! Get up close with nature as we spend a day at the Kinabatangan Jungle Camp. The jungle stay offer plenty of opportunities to watch wildlife including the orangutan, saltwater crocodiles, bearded jungle pigs and pygmy elephants. There is a river cruise, plenty of opportunities for bird watching and have nature strolls at the Jungle Camp stay.

Day 4: Kinabagatan River Cruise

The Kinabatangan River is Sabah’s longest and Malaysia’s second longest river. You could go for a river cruise to get the best of nature and is an amazing opportunity to see the wildlife there. The riverbank is home to the largest remaining population of Orangutans and other animals like the Asian elephants and the macaques. If you’re lucky you could spot the famous Proboscis monkey too. The riverbank is a paradise for bird-watchers with a wide variety of birds including the rhinoceros hornbills, crested serpent eagles and blue-banded kingfishers. –

Day 5:Morning Checkout – Travel to Sandakan

Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre

The centre is an apt place to see the orangutans in their natural habitat. Orangutans that are orphaned, injured or get captured are taken care here. They are taught survival skills and are prepared to be let out back in the jungle. 

Sandakan Rainforest Discovery Centre 

The Centre has exhibition halls, the Plant Discovery Garden, the Kapili-Sepilok Forest Reserve, environmental education programmes and a small lake for boat rides. There is a Plant Discovery Garden and a guided Rainforest Walk.

Day 6: Sandakan

Day 7 and 8: Check out to Ranau

The Ranau district has a hilly geographical structure, is home to highland agriculture and has a diverse range of flora in its hill rainforest. Let us take a stroll through the World Heritage-listed Kinabalu National Park. The park offers several walking trails from which you can birdwatch or catch an animal or two. The Mountain Botanic Garden is an absolute wonder which houses several diverse plant life.

Day 9 – Checkout and reach 9 Huts, Kudat

The Centre has exhibition halls, the Plant Discovery Garden, the Kapili-Sepilok Forest Reserve, environmental education programmes and a small lake for boat rides. There is a Plant Discovery Garden and a guided Rainforest Walk.We will check out from Ranau and travel to 9 Huts. On the way we will stop at the Kinabalu Park. We can spend an hour or two there depending on those who wish to take up the 1.5 hour Ranau Trail up the Mount Kinabalu. After the visit, we will travel to 9 Huts, Kudat and check-in for the night.

Day 10 – 9 Huts

The day will start with Sunrise Yoga at the dedicated Eagle Yoga Platform at 9 Huts after which we will take a trip to the Gombizau Honey Bee Farm – a 50 minute drive through picturesque towns. Visitors will observe how a bee farm is managed and get a taste of raw honey! Our next stop will be at the Sumangkap Gong-Making Village, which is quite near the bee farm. Here at the village, the kulintangan (a set of different sized gongs producing different sounds) will be on display. Visitors can see the method of gong making by a professional present in the village.

Day 11

We will start the day with Sunrise Yoga at the dedicated Eagle Yoga Platform at 9 Huts. After breakfast guests will take our exclusive boat ride to the nearby islands for snorkeling or diving and fishing. Once guests are back, they can relax with our massage sessions and gear up for Sunset Yoga at 9 Huts.

Day 12: Checkout to Airport

After the refreshing Sunrise Yoga, guests can checkout from 9 Huts after breakfast depending on their schedule. Airport transfers to kotakinabalu airport and other requirements can be arranged.
